Flavor Analyst

IFF is very excited to welcome a new Flavor Analyst to our team, and we hope it’s you!

As a Flavour Analyst, you will provide analytical support to the AMETI Nourish Division with focus on the analysis of volatile and non-volatile compounds in consumer products, competitors’ products, natural products, and foods. You will be responsible for the preparation of samples, chromatographic and spectroscopic analysis, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting, laboratory maintenance, interaction with flavorists to translate analytical results into flavor formulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of samples for analysis.
• Complete analysis, separation, and quantitation (GC & LC) and identification (GC-MS) of flavors and extracts.
• Update results to the Analytical Information Management (AIM) database.
• To work within the assigned project timelines.
• Work with flavorists to make the best use of analytical results.
• Method development, equipment maintenance and operation of equipment and laboratory maintenance.

Job Requirements

Required Skills

• A good understanding of organic and analytical chemistry (BS / MS).
• PC literate.
• Hands on experience with GC/HPLC and MS equipment.
• Practical experience of sample preparation techniques for flavor isolation, fragrance, or food volatiles isolation.

Required Experience

• 1 to 5 years applying analytical skills in the flavor and fragrance or food industry.
