Job Description

IFF is seeking a Traffic/Logistics Coordinator to join our team in Memphis, TN! If you are outgoing and work with a sense of urgency and prioritization, then this is the role for you!
 
The Traffic Coordinator will be responsible for arranging worldwide shipments of products and samples to meet customer needs. In this role, you will assist production through arrangements of transportation of various materials. You will plan and manage the control and movement of product from suppliers to retail and business outlets to our customers. The Traffic Coordinator ensures that goods are received on time, stored correctly, and dispatched according to schedules.
 
Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


•    Planning / Execution of daily shipments through modes of transportation: Air Freight; FTL; FCL; LCL; and LTL
•    Prepare shipping documents, specific portfolio reports, corrective action, or metrics
•    Distribute shipping documents
•    Assist domestic and international coordinators as needed with daily scheduling and shipping
•    Track and follow-up shipments
•    File, data entry, and other duties as assigned
•    Customer service relations
•    Run various reports for analysis 
•    Resolves exception notices and other invoicing disputes 
•    Manage, assign, and order equipment for yard pool as needed 
•    Maintains documentation and ensures follow-up for sourcing and logistics quality and safety health and environmental requirements. 
•    Places spot orders 
 

Job Requirements

The following are required: 


•    High School Diploma/GED
•    3+ years of experience in a logistics, traffic, shipping, military, or related role OR a recent graduate with a 2-year degree or higher in a related field 
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills 
•    Ability to work effectively within teams and independently 
•    Basic computer skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
•    Ability to work under pressure and prioritize work to meet deadlines
•    Willing and able to sit for extended periods at a time 

 

The following are preferred:


•    A 2-year degree or higher in a related field
•    Previous experience working with an ERP system and/or SAP
•    Knowledge of transportation requirements
