Job Description
At IFF, we are looking for a motivated individual with a background in science to join our team for the summer. This individual will work independently to complete a combination of daily responsibilities and projects.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of lab media and reagents
- QC of microbiological media
- Calibration of lab equipment
- Preparation of seed media for fermentation
- Perform physical testing (pH, SG, RI)
- Perform QC testing
- Chemical Oxygen Demand
- Protein quantification
- Dry Cell Weight
Project:
Protein Analysis
- Work with engineering to understand protein to activity conversions
- Crossover on Proteins to aid in the analysis of samples
- Analyze data to determine protein to activity factors for AGS, ATA, and TGP.
- Present overview of findings to production site
Job Requirements
Education and Qualifications/Requirements:
- Previous lab experience
- Basic understanding of acids and bases
- Understanding of gravimetric techniques
- Able to work independently and within a team environment
