We are hiring! We are looking for a Research Associate to join us our team in Benicarló (Castellón)

About You

In this position, under general supervision (of a PhD chemist) you will propose, plan and perform experimental procedures in the laboratory from g to Kg scale aiming to improve by following green chemistry principles, the quality, yield, process safety and/or reduce production cost of fragrance ingredients. You will generate and evaluate data, interpret, and report results, draw conclusions, and write reports.

Specifically, you will provide support to the laboratory department by performing a variety of laboratory processes:

· Be responsible for conducting the day experimental work in multi-step organic synthesis of small molecules in the assigned projects.

· Develop/optimize synthetic routes for scalable manufacturing processes.

· Perform bibliography revisions and searches to elaborate innovative working plan alternatives on assigned projects while balancing time, resources, and risks of the approaches.

· Maintain up-to-date records for all work performed and ensure a safe workplace.

Job Requirements

  •  Master degree in synthetic organic chemistry. 
  • Knowledge of analytical techniques and data interpretation like GC, GC-MS, NMR etc.
  • Basic knowledge of scientific databases (SciFinder), chemistry software (ChemDraw), electronic laboratory journal (E-Notebook) and versatility in common IT applications (Microsoft office)
  •  2-years Industrial experience is preferred with demonstrated laboratory skills and technical expertise in the field of synthetic organic chemistry.

  • Understand the principles of organic chemistry and standard transformation with a demonstrated laboratory skills and technical expertise in the field of synthetic organic chemistry.
  •  Excellent organizational skills and accuracy in experimental documentation.
  • Good communications skills and confidence during meetings in English.
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary, collaborative, and international team.
  • Teamwork/Interpersonal skills.
