IFF is seeking a highly motivated Scientist I – Process R&D to work in the Scent Delivery Systems group in our Benicarló facility. 


This division pursues to deepen in encapsulation process in order to correlate and predict quality parameters related to production variables so it can support pilot to main plant scaling, help in solving problems and help with new projects. 


The group has three main components to focus on: engineering, analytical results and sensory performance, to achieve know-how development on encapsulation process. The analytical and sensory performance team will have to work and progress at the same time and in the same direction as the engineering team, both teams will be constantly interrelated in the scale up of new technologies and supporting the Business adding value to the market of consumer fragrances.


YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with process engineers, providing technical expertise and recommendations as needed. Collaborate to optimize processes and achieve project goals.
  • Collaborate in global meetings to align quality control (QC) methods across teams. Contribute innovative ideas for analyzing new technologies and raw materials.
  • Propose and participate in evaluating new equipment, ensuring its suitability for project needs.
  • Lead independent workstreams or programs within projects. Leverage input from project and technical leaders to drive successful outcomes.
  • Manage projects focused on fundamental understanding of microencapsulation technologies and raw materials. Ensure efficient problem-solving and timely execution.
  • Communicate effectively with diverse audiences, including technical experts, business stakeholders, and leadership. Ensure clear understanding and alignment.
  • Contribute insights and ideas to new projects. Participate in planning, monitoring progress, and executing initiatives aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Foster a cohesive team environment. Maintain a positive attitude and encourage collaboration among team members.

Job Requirements

  • You have a Master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Microencapsulation, or Organic Chemistry.
  • We will rely on your at least 3 years of industrial experience.
  • You have demonstrated mastery of responsibilities and significant contributions in the previous grades.
  • We will rely on your strong technical background in both quantitative and qualitative analytical chemistry.
  • Proficiency in using and troubleshooting complex analytical instrumentation.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Spanish.
  • Preferred:
    • PhD in Microencapsulation
    • Experience with sensory analysis and interpretation of sensory data
    • Experience Fragrance & Flavors chemistry
