Job overview:
 

Performs as experienced scientist with proven track record of independently conceptualizing and conducting research for new product development in functional food ingredients derived from seaweeds, aligned with our Sustainability goals and business strategies. Engages with customers on technical needs, captures market opportunities, and transforms these into technical solutions with added value for IFF and our global customers in the food & beverage market. Leads projects through development stages with early assessment of IP opportunities. Contributes as team player in multiple projects across global functions and teams. Applies scientific research disciplines to drive R&D impact through quality and efficiency. 
 

 

Responsibilities:
 

  • Interacts with customers to help solve technical challenges and follows up with internal stakeholders to drive for value-adding solutions. Engages with customers and business partners to understand unmet market needs, conceptualizes these, and translates them into research plans or project proposals.
  • Leads in ideation, drafts patent applications, identifies barriers affecting freedom-to-operate, and develops strategies to overcome. Has thorough understanding of competitive technologies impacting area of expertise and understands the business opportunity/impact.
  • Defines, plans, and leads research and development efforts to successfully accomplish significant project goals applying in-depth expertise and scientific principles. Demonstrates technical leadership, recognizes critical project needs, and independently implements changes as required to meet business needs.
  • Builds strong collaborations with business partners, business supporting stakeholders, and R&D peers. Teaches, advises, and imparts technical proficiency to others. Manages stakeholders through regular communication of project results and progress.

 

Job Requirements

 

•    PhD in Chemistry or Food Science with minimum 6 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
•    Proven track of accomplishments in related role to demonstrate mastery of responsibilities and successful completion of high impact projects and/or technology implementation(s).
