We are looking for our next Process Engineer for our Carrollton, Tx facility.  

 

This position reports directly to the Plant Manager and has no direct supervisory responsibilities. Expected to consult with and provide guidance to Operations Department Staff. Make decisions on how to most efficiently and effectively perform process engineering activities.  Provide typical problem-solving activities including determining the cause for producing product outside the specification limits and developing corrective action.

 

Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of this position at any time.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

 

This position operates in a plant/production environment 100 percent of the time. Exposure to hazardous materials training is required. Occasional travel may be required.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

  • Provide technical support for troubleshooting current processes.
  • Coordinate process/product development trials on the plant.
  • Optimize process to replace costs and improve quality.
  • Team Leader for Process Review Board.

 

Job Requirements

 

The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Responsible for design and implementation of plant improvement projects to include areas such production process, environment, safety and sanitation. This includes evaluation of equipment and processes in order to make improvements to the rates, cost and on-stream factors.
  • Responsible for design and implementation of process/product development projects. This will provide cost analysis, feasibility, design of production trials, and scheduling of key activities within the scope of the development program.
  • Provide technical support to Operations for problem solving and troubleshooting activities relating to product quality and production rates.
  • Assist in new product introduction, including coordination along with Innovation, Division’s and Production.
  • Assist in developing accurate, well defined process parameters and serve as the team leader for the Process Review Board.
  • Assist in developing operating procedures for plant equipment and process.
  • Assist in training of operating personnel in principles of unit operations, process control, engineering, maintenance and proper operation of equipment.
  • Assist production in optimizing processes for the purpose of reducing cost and increasing product quality.
  • Assist maintenance in evaluation of equipment repairs and procedures. This is to include evaluation of parts for optimal performance.
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Compliance with applicable company policies concerning maintaining a drug free workplace is required.
  • Compliance with all company policies is required.
  • Other functions as required (non-essential).
  • Ensures adherence to all management systems including, ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 and Food Safety, with an understanding of Danisco’s Quality and Environmental Policies and procedures. Responsible that these policies and procedures are implemented throughout the organization and all related activities under the position’s jurisdiction.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

 

  • To successfully perform the requirements of this position, the incumbent must possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, in mechanical engineering, or related area. The incumbent must also possess a minimum of three years previous experience in a manufacturing environment. The ability to work independently, strong communication (verbal and written) skills, interpersonal, and vendor relation’s skills are required.
  • Strong background in project management is required.
