Global Strategic Account Manager


As Global Strategic Account Manager (GSAM) you will be responsible to acquire new accounts as well as develop and manage the account strategy and commercial relationship for the assigned global accounts in the Consumer Health Care pharma industry. You will manage all aspects of the selling process, developing key relationships at the customer throughout all levels and functions as well as with key influencers. The position reports to Global Commercial Development Director.

Key responsibilities and tasks


•    Acquire new Consumer Health Care accounts in the pharma field 
•    Owning and driving the account strategy and action plan for the assigned global accounts.


Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

•    Accountable for the account strategy, action plan, and development program pipeline required to grow or expand the business. Develops a deep understanding of the customer’s business and growth objectives.
•    “Drives” the extended account teamwork plan and establishes KPI’s for the team to deliver milestone achievement.
•    Drives sales policies and programs to meet sales and profit goals for the global strategic accounts. 
•    Provides coaching to extended account team.


The position is accountable for the following:

•    Overall revenue & gross contribution at global level
•    Strategic account plan and long-term pipeline & innovation objectives & deliverables to deliver growth at this account in coordination with BU functions and the regions.
•    Accountable for IFF Health of the global account managing process. Ensures broad coordination and resource deployment to achieve growth goals.

Job Requirements


Who we are looking for?


We are looking for a customer oriented and proven leader with > 8 years of Business development and/or Key Account management experience in the pharmaceutical field (preferably with Consumer Health Care companies) with a strong track record in Sales, Marketing, or Business Development roles. You have a deep understanding of business growth processes and portfolio management in the CHC pharma industry. Additionally, you have the skills to develop a deep understanding of the customer’s business and identify opportunities to grow IFF Health business overall. The role is highly consultative and requires a strong degree of influence management.  Also, you possess a global business acumen and communicate on all levels. You empower people around you and have excellent interpersonal skills. It is motivating for you to coach, guide and give feedback to help the team excel on the job and meet key accountabilities.
You hold a university degree in a relevant area, with a solid commercial background in the CHC pharma industry, and several years of experience in a global organization. Visiting our customers is an essential part of the job and you should expect 80 – 120 travel days a year.
