We are looking for our next EHS Manager for our Corona, CA site.

 

The Environment, Health & Safety Manager position uses a hands-on approach to ensure organizational compliance with applicable environmental, health and safety regulations at the federal, state, local and corporate levels. This role provides safety and environmental support to the Corona, CA site by developing and implementing strategies which improves upon existing EHS programs, meets regulatory requirements, and delivers business results. This position is broad in technical scope, covering safety, industrial hygiene, and hazardous materials and environmental aspects. Incumbent must be knowledgeable of safety and environmental requirements for the State of California.

 

 

Job Requirements

 

  • Provide all aspects of health, safety, and environmental support to the operation site.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations enforced through OSHA, EPA, DOT and all other state and federal laws/regulations pertaining to health, safety and the environment;
  • Manage all incident/accident investigations; support effective injury/illness case management including return-to-work/transitional duty programs; lost time injury rate, OSHA recordable incident rate;
  • Develop, implement, and execute training programs for safety and environmental to ensure compliance with all company and government requirements; maintain supporting documentation and safety training hours records;
  • Gather and report data on safety and environmental performance, compliance, expenses and incidents; keep site managers apprised of status, trends and progress compared to goals;
  • Organize, lead, and participate in activities that promote employee ownership in the safety & environmental programs (e.g. safety committees, ergonomic committees, accident investigation committees);
  • Participate in the review of new operations, processes and procedures (as well as changes to existing operations) at the proposal/design phase and throughout implementation to assure consideration of safety & environmental issues/hazards;
  • Support management of Hazardous and Non-Hazardous Waste Disposal Program; ensure all shipments are properly manifested and labeled;
  • Review new materials for the site and ensure Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for each is maintained and up to date.
  • Ensure that proper safety controls are put in place for new processes or products.
  • Manage the development and execution of small capital projects (<$15K) to improve EHS for the site.

 

Experience Required:

 

  • Associate or bachelor's degree (preferred) in EHS, Industrial Hygiene or related discipline plus 5 or more years of Health and Safety experience in an industrial setting
  • Demonstrated experience with monitoring exposures to noise, airborne particles and other IH exposures
  • Demonstrated knowledge in development of Job Safety and Job Hazard analysis (JHA and JSA)
  • Demonstrated success driving safety metrics downward in a Behavior Based Safety environment and leading accident / incident investigations
  • Experience managing continuous improvement projects
  • Project management and training background
  • Proven ability to motivate, direct and coordinate the safety activities of managers and their direct reports
  • Knowledge of State OSHA regulations
  • Experience with regulatory agencies (e.g. OSHA, EPA, EPA).
  • ISO 14001 and 18001 Lead Auditor (Preferred)
  • Certification in Health and Safety Management (Preferred)
  • Spanish speaking a plus 
     

Compensation ($84,160 - 105,000) is based on a variety of factors including but not limited to work experience, skills, certifications, and location.
