What you will contribute

 

As a Flavorist at IFF, you will have the opportunity to independently develop flavors and help bring new flavors to our customers and contribute to the formulation and development for some of the most exciting projects in the flavor and sweet products industry today.

 

Your Focus

 

  • Work effectively within assigned teams in developing winning flavors to brief.
  • Ensure highest WIN rate possible by developing cost effective production and saleable flavors, within project parameters based on regulatory requirements and client restrictions.
  • Interact with key customers to meet their flavors needs or expectations and build solid relationships.
  • Evaluate raw materials, IFF preferred ingredients or new technologies to ensure customer value in cost and quality.
  • Trouble shooting and correction of flavors that are non-conformance to legislation or standard with raw material problem, non-production friendly etc.
  • Active participation to provide cross-functional leadership in strategic category and platform initiatives to build flavor ingredient capabilities and expand flavor bank offerings.
  • Develop and execute training & guidance or mentorship to Trainees and Junior Flavorists to increase team competency.

Job Requirements

About You

 

To be successful in this role, you should have minimum overall experience of 7-10 years in the Flavor Industry within a creative function. You should have solid understanding of Flavors Sweet Category and a strong emphasis on Flavor creation and applications, raw materials and chemical processes.

 

A Bachelor Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemical Engineering or any other relevant discipline from a reputable institute will be essential.

 

With a proven track record in leading Flavor projects for the Sweet category, you possess strong Flavor creation, innovation and development technical know-how in a B2B or B2C environment. Ideally you should have strong interest in evaluating new raw materials and assessing potentials for future new flavor creation. You should be capable in creating flavor from scratch with minimal analytical aid and perform a good match within short period of time. You are the Technical expert to identify potential risks and develop creative solutions to address technical flavor issues.

 

You are good in building strong customer relations and capable in leading sizeable technical projects that are either proactive or go to market (G2M). You possess flavor creation techniques with strong familiarity in Sweet products market trends.

 

You should be comfortable working in a B2B environment with a positive, self-driven or results oriented attitude. Strong teamwork, customer orientation, project management, effective time management skills with proven ability to oversee all assigned projects and meeting deadlines are highly desirable.
