Job Description

It’s an exciting time to be part of IFF! We are looking for our next Design Team Leader, Beverage, Bakery Bars & Confectionary. 

About You:

Recognised specialist in product development who understands the application of flavours, and is able to implement and execute projects across regional networks.  Manage and lead a team, demonstrating ability to develop direct reports with identified specific training programs.

How You Will Contribute :
    Project and Resource Management
o    Coordinate, implement and execute category aligned initiatives
o    Engage management to justify and obtain appropriate project resource or expertise
o    Coordinate and set project (team) priorities to ensure timely execution
o    Participate in localising initiatives and/or new concept generation
o    Strong timeline and project decision making (management) skills
o    Familiarise with Task & Project Pipeline KPIs/analysis for area of responsibility

    Technology and Product Management
o    Recipe database review/maintenance
o    Focus and coordinate work on application specific recipe database
o    Maximise flavour performance through recipe design
o    Focus and coordinate activity on category aligned Flavour Bank inline with established metrics
o    Foster strong creativity, innovation and presentation skills within the team
o    As part of the creative process, show an understanding of raw materials, solvents and flavour language and articulate with others in the team
o    Encourage and enable use of new and IFF approved materials (ie PoE, advanced technology) in flavours and flavour solutions to offer IFF proprietary advantage

    Leadership and Talent Development
o    Proactively pursue personal development, partner with manager to ensure SMART objectives and personal development plan are aligned with category/business objectives
o    Provide challenging and stretching tasks and assignments
o    Set clear goals and lead team to achieve the project goals within the deadline
o    Identify, construct and execute development plans for individual and/or team in conjunction with manager
o    Recognise talent and work out improvement plans for underperformers

    Strategy and Business Knowledge
o    Foster category aligned networks/relationships
o    Implement C&A strategy at star, strategic and aligned global customers
o    Understand market taste differences/preferences and ensure concept/submission alignment
o    Clear understanding and effective execution of IFF processes
o    Aware of key customer brands/products and consumer preference of the assigned segments/category
o    Foster internal understanding of such brands/products and consumer preference
o    Plan and elevate future equipment/inventory requirements for area of responsibility
o    Initiating Capex (less USD$250K) budgeting and implementation when/where required

Job Requirements

What you will need to be successful:

•    Bachelor Science degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Science or related disciplines
•    Pass IFF internal sensory test
•    Minimum 10 years experience in food, pharmaceutical, ingredient or flavour industry
•    2 – 3 years exposure to interdepartmental cross functional team roles (eg leader, participant, manager, etc)
•    5 years in the specific field of expertise
