Job Description



It’s an exciting time to become a part of the IFF (International Flavors & Fragrances, Inc) team!  We are looking for our next Maintenance Planner to become part of our growing and industry-leading team in Dayton, NJ. The purpose of the position is to improve productivity and work quality. The position supports the execution of maintenance work by receiving, planning, estimating, scheduling and coordinating maintenance work orders. This position ensures that materials, tools, skills and workers are available for tasks and provides proper documentation of performed work for use in evaluation of the maintenance function. The position also serves as a backup to the Maintenance Supervisor.

  • Controlling and checking the preventive/scheduled maintenance activities
  • Optimizing preventative/scheduled maintenance
  • Ensuring coordinating preventive/scheduled maintenance with both planned and unplanned shutdowns and production 
  • Optimizing planning functionality
  • Coordinating maintenance tasks between Production, Mechanics, and contractors when needed
  • Working within MVP to maintain maintenance planning and reports. i.e., Maintenance KPI’s
  • Coordinating electrical/mechanic spare parts and materials
  • Planning and coordinating time schedules for internal and external personnel
  • Coordinating planned shutdowns, ISO and PSM activities
  • Working with procurement/documentation to maintain and create material masters
  • Coordinating MRP for MRO activities for Budget compliance 


Job Requirements


  • B.S. Degree in a technical field preferred
  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, instrumentation components 
  • Experience working in Maintenance/Facilities in the Manufacturing industry
  • Experience planning out the required work times for specific repair jobs, and creating a daily expected workload for mechanics
  • Examining and evaluating mechanical/electrical equipment and systems. Understanding of what is needed for what is needed to complete a mechanical or instrumentation repair. i.e., amount of time needed, what supplies should be ordered a head of time, etc.

  • Demonstrated ability to self-manage and work as a contributing 
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, evaluate, and interpret information to make decisions and solve problems
  • Demonstrated ability to use electronic information systems, including personal computers and spreadsheet applications
  • Experience with SAP, MS Excel, MS Word, and similar office applications
  • Six sigma greenbelt or blackbelt certification preferred
