Job Description



We are hiring a Reliability professional to join IFF as Maintenance Reliability Engineer at our Dayton, NJ site. The successful candidate will work with site resources to identify and resolve equipment reliability issues. Work will consist of analysis of historical work completed, analysis of maintenance practices and techniques, application of preventive and predictive maintenance technologies, and defect elimination.

  • Identifying, designing, and implementing facility and equipment upgrades
  • Assisting in the identification and resolution of recurring reliability issues
  • Coordinating Predictive Maintenance activities
  • Assisting in the planning and coordination of plant shutdown maintenance repairs including direct supervision of contract maintenance crews
  • Identifying and tracking of plant critical spare parts
  • Assisting in revision and development of written mechanical maintenance procedures
  • Assisting in the analysis and improvement of site precision maintenance techniques
  • Leading and participating in reliability improvement teams
  • Performing job duties in a manner that follow food safety and quality guidelines including but not limited to HACCP, GMPs, QA Policies, Sanitation, and Pest Control



Job Requirements


  • B.S. Degree in a technical field preferred
  • Preferred Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • 5 years of experience in maintenance and reliability with high-speed rotating equipment


Required Skills


  • Knowledge of theories, principles, methods and procedures of applicable field of Engineering Statistics and Experimental Design
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written form
  • Effective at building a team atmosphere across departments through effective communication and alignment on priority and roles
  • Demonstrated ability to self-manage and work as a contributing 
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, evaluate, and interpret information to make decisions and solve problems
  • Demonstrated ability to use electronic information systems, including personal computers and spreadsheet applications
  • Experience with SAP, MS Excel, MS Word, and similar office applications
  • Six sigma greenbelt or blackbelt certification preferred
