The Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all payroll processes are executed appropriately and in a timely manner for IFF’s German legal entities and operates as the subject matter expert and escalation point to resolve issues. We expect you to continuously look for improvements in operational processes and to support our Payroll Supervisor Germany in defining standards and reusable approaches for payroll operations. You will support regarding compliance of all relevant internal controls, local and international laws, rules and regulations as well as time reporting policies while working in an environment of strict deadlines and confidentiality.


Job Requirements


About You


You are a detail oriented, organized, payroll professional able to work in our payroll team under strict deadlines. You have demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with employees and management. You possess a logical and methodical work manner accompanied by high level of attention to detail and confidentiality, and you should be able to conduct work planning, estimation and prioritization to optimize performance of team and works with accounting manager and Payroll Supervisor to define standards and reusable approaches for payroll operations.


You will spend your time…

• Processing IFF’s German legal entities monthly payroll;

• Monitoring the accuracy of monthly payroll result, being the escalation point to resolve any issues;

• Responding to payroll inquiries from employees, HR and compensation team as well;

• Supporting business with the integration of new acquisitions Payroll process and systems;

• Supporting business unit and deliver payroll related reports at monthly level;

• Support the review and accurate completion of internal SOX testing cycle of payroll

• Respond to all auditor inquiries, including wage tax audit;

• Respond to inquiries and requests from local tax authorities;

• Additional tasks and projects as assigned.




Required Skills and experience

• Master or Bachelor degree in business or similar qualification

• At least 3-5 years payroll processing experience and Time and Attendance experience if applicable;

• Firm understanding of payroll processing principles;

• Time and Attendance software roll out experience is a plus;

• Excellent communication skills, ability to achieve accurate result;

• Native German language speaking, fluent in English;

• Must be able to interact with various levels of management;

• Must work well under strict deadlines and a high-volume environment - multi-tasking is essential;

• Knowledge of local wage tax and social benefits, pension regulations and implications;

• Confidentiality a must;

• Microsoft Office-Excel, Word; SAP preferred;

• Experienced of handling payroll issues with external service providers;

• Experience in a shared service environment and solid understanding of HR cycles

• HR experience preferably in an operations environment
