We currently have a new and exciting opportunity for an individual to join our Shipping Team as a Customs Administrator.

This is a fast-paced role, that would suit a confident, highly organized individual who is able to work accurately to tight deadlines. The successful candidate will have the ability to work independantly and be able to effectively communicate with numerous stakeholders at all levels .

 

Specific duties will include:

  • Liaising with suppliers and carriers on Imports and generating the necessary files, completing customs clearance, sending clearance details to customs clearance agents, using government clearance procedures
  • Comparing costs on deferment account,
  • Managing all customs queries 
  • Checking freight invoices and reporting and address any import errors 
  • Monitoring incoming POs and liaising with import carriers to ensure they are cleared and are delivered on time
  • Informing Raw Material planning of any issues and delays due to customs
  • Managing the archives of the sites import paperwork
  • Completing Customs EMCS system to clear duty goods
  • Assisting with project work when required
  • Ensuring suppliers send the correct documents for clearance (including any ingredients lists sand licence references etc.)
  • Completing any paperwork for export shipments (post Brexit)
  • Communicating with hauliers to arrange customers clearance (post Brexit export Terms DDP)
  • Providing cover for export shipping when required

 

Required Skills:

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Excellent prioritisation, organisational, change management and interpersonal / communication skills
  • Good IT skills including Excel and Word
  • Previous experience of SAP (is preferred but not essential)

 

Required Experience:

  • Previous experience of working within a logistics environment
  • Import declaration experience
  • Export declaration experience (is preferred but not essential)
