Job Description


We currently have an exciting opportunity for organised and pro-active individual who has the ability to work effectively to tight deadlines. This role would suit an individual who enjoys working in a fast  paced, team environment and who has proven experience within a Production Planning role.


Responsibility include:


  • Using the MRP system to firm planned orders to cover sales orders and stock orders, to meet the customer requirements.
  • Producing daily plans and liaising with production to ensure they can be met
  • Working within Integrated Planning guidelines and updating data on a monthly basis.
  • Planning daily on a rolling daily schedule.
  • Daily reviews of exception messages to ensure customer requirements are covered. Using this information to notify Sales of any trend changes.
  • Keeping master data correct, ensuring Master Planning are updated in line with integrated planning strategy.
  • Working very closely with scheduling to ensure the correct workload is issued to the shop floor
  • Create and issue reports to assist with communication between all departments (web and non-web based). Keep reports updated.
  • Update SAP with new win information and add new win forecast
  • Monitor stock holdings and inform Customer Services and Purchasing of any changes in order patterns
  • Supporting other planners and schedulers during holiday periods
  • Assist in any projects and work related to the role.

Required Skills:


  • Experience/knowledge of Raw Material Purchasing (MRP) and Planning Control
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Excellent prioritization, organizational, change management and interpersonal/communication skills.
  • Excellent Team player
  • Good IT skills including Excel and Word.
  • Educated to minimum of A levels (or equivalent)


Preferred (optional):


  • Educated to degree level
  • Formal qualification in Material Planning Control
  • SAP planning experience
  • CIP Qualification 


Required Experience:


  • Prior experience within a Production Planner role.
  • Experience of MRP systems, understanding of manufacturing, control, capacity planning and operations
  • Stock control experience
