This  is an exciting opportunity to join our team in Haverhill as a Manufacturing Process Engineer


This is a key position with dual responsibilities. You will be involved in identifying, initiating and managing production projects to improve processes as well as leading all change control implementation projects.  You will be developing process engineering solutions to solve problems dealing with the role throughout the engineering lifecycle.  You will also cover responsibility for maintenance engineering functionality, prioritising work and allocating resources, as well as working on preventative maintenance planning.


Maintenance: Work with maintenance team to correctly allocate resources and prioritise. Participate in reliability workshops and thus creation of preventive maintenance schemes appropriate to equipment/processes. Resolve process or equipment problems.


Process engineering: Lead projects and process improvements on efficiency, safety, sustainability, quality or cost reduction of all production operations, prioritise according to business value. Improve and standardise process robustness /capability and waste reduction. Ownership of process development and upscale.  Sign off as fit for manufacture and ultimate production process owner. Support in defining operating parameters in systems. Support in investigations of non-conformance issues and implement solutions. Manage the transfer and procurement of production equipment and support with the introduction. Actively participate in the creation and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures. Lead training activities for production processes and procedures. Liaise with other functions to ensure the processes and procedures needed to maintain systems are established, understood and implemented. Apply Lean principles. Supports process risk analysis / hazard & operability. Define technical specification (functionality) to automate process plant. Supply the specification to design partner for detailed process design.

Job Requirements
  • Degree – Chemical Engineering/Chemistry
  • Good Communication skills working with all levels of the organisation
  • Experience within a Food, Chemical or Pharmaceutical upper tier and be familiar with the requirements with regard to HS&E, ideally with experience within a GMP environment.
  • Experience of:
    • Food production
    • Project management
    • Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma/ Lean Manufacturing
    • Mechanical engineering
