The SCENT Consumer Insights team


IFF is a consumer centric organization, so the CI team plays a key role in product development processes. Conducting and analyze consumer research to understand how to fulfill consumer needs and expectations and to support the Creative department and Marketing and Sales decisions. Thanks to tools like (online) consumer connects, preference evaluation, product positioning, home use tests, the Consumer Insights team targets to be the voice of the consumer in IFF. With that, the team in Hilversum look for an intern that can support us in that role.

Skills required:



  • We are looking for a student that is meticulous, pragmatic, open-minded and with a good cross-cultural communication ability. People with high motivation, force of proposal and ability to work independently will receive special attention.


  • The student must be analytical and have a good knowledge in consumer research, have statistical and modeling skills (descriptive, parametric & non-parametric statistical analysis, multifactorial analysis, regression modelling, etc.). Knowledge of, or experience with, online (research) tools and programming skills is a plus. Student has experience with MS Office, particularly Excel and Powerpoint.



  • Excellent scientific and professional English skills are required, written or oral (mandatory). 


What does IFF offer:

  • Duration: 4-6 months.
  • Period: flexible 
  • Place: Creative Center Hilversum (Netherlands / home office for 2 days a week
  • Allowance: 500€ including travel/commuting cost.
