The Opportunity

 

A global Category CI & Sensory Lead position is available at one of the world’s best suppliers of the food and beverage, fragrance, home and personal care, and health & wellness end markets with innovative solutions that allow them to create the products consumers know and love. This New Jersey based position is one that offers a collaborative work environment, experience in a fast-paced industry, and a chance to create work for both new and established scented product brands. This is an opportunity to work alongside key creative marketers, the world’s best perfumers, and developers to help develop fragrances and experiences that will leave a lasting impression on consumers.  This position will define strategy, lead and manage Category CI & Sensory activities worldwide to innovate capabilities, develop strong Consumer insights to support Scent Design and develop Superior value proposition. Define Category Innovation CI strategy to support HSD principles.  S/he will support key capabilities and anticipate development and business needs to setup the actions to maintain excellence in consumer innovation and understanding.

Responsibilities

 

INNOVATION MANAGEMENT 
Track and monitor consumer tastes, needs, benefits, usages and attitudes to provide the Category with consumer centric opportunities (product/ technology/brief development).
Establish and drive implementation of governance to maintain alignment and operational efficiency in category and commercial projects   (e.g.: set the frame and the standards for regions to integrate, implement, apply and leverage).

 

REPRESENTING & KNOWLEDGE GUARDIANSHIP
Apply & promote Consumer research methodology / tools / protocols that advance Category initiatives.
Enable data basing and knowledge management on consumer knowledge to translate into actionable insights & trends. 
Define & push best practices in execution of consumer test programs supporting category innovation (ECA, ..).

 

COMMUNICATION & TEAMWORK
Deploy and communicate Insights and Learnings to the organization.
Maximize cross-fertilization such as knowledge sharing, Category leverage, collaboration and talent.
    

GO TO MARKET
Support category strategic programs and initiatives with Consumer understanding and prospective X-category point of view.
Secure alignment on commercial focus by fostering implementation of Category insights /methodologies / standards among the CI regional teams.
Represent Consumer Category expertise internally and with key customers (core listing, mission critical,..).     

 

BUDGET MANAGEMENT
Propose, manage, monitor, and maintain category CI budget.

Job Requirements

 

Required Skills

 

  • 10+ years of experience in Consumer Insights, Sensory Research, Marketing and/or Consumer Research.
  • Minimum of (5+) years of experience leading Marketing/Consumer Research coupled with in-depth knowledge of the fragrance and beauty/personal care industries.
  • Consumer and market understanding: Academic training or work experience.
  • Experience working in international organization.
  • Demonstrated People Leadership background.
  • Bachelor’s degree and Master preferred-Demonstrated expertise in business, statistics, science, test design, and/or consumer psychology.
  • Position is based in NJ facilities.
