We are now seeking a highly motivated and results driven individual to join our growing Inventory and Cost Accounting team as Assistant Manager.

 

Your Focus

As Assistant Manager at our Finance Shared Service Center in Hyderabad, India, you will manage Inventory & Cost Accounting operations for the globe which includes managing day to day operations, month-end close accounting and reporting activities, driving improvements and standardization of process by working across regions and leading the team by providing necessary guidance and support to the team and stakeholders. 


The role reports to Assistant Vice President – Operations.

 

How you will contribute

  • Accountable for managing service delivery for Inventory & Cost Accounting team operations as an Assistant Manager or Manager for a team of 12-15 members.
  • Manage day to day operations by working with the stakeholders in collaboration with the team and provide accounting guidance to the team.
  • Monitor and ensure smooth closure of month-end / quarter-end / year-end closing process in SAP (e.g., plant closing, manual journal entries, allocation cycles, reporting, accounts reconciliations) and guide the team to resolve issues during the closing process.
  • Provide expert problem management support to difficult and high-profile customer issues and ensure root-cause analysis is conducted and a corrective action plan is followed through with any learning applied for future benefit.
  • Review and learn the accounting practices, policies, and procedures in a periodic manner (Standard Operating Procedures) and adapt to the changes to improve the process as required.
  • Lead from the front and be the face for Business Controllers, Business Analysts, Plant Cost Accountants, Accounting Team and Auditors for providing answers to their questions and queries.
  • Champion team-working and knowledge sharing and promote the increased use of shared services capability.
  • Drive process improvement and standardization projects within the team.
  • Perform all tasks to ensure compliance with organization’s Internal Control Framework (SOX and non-SOX).
  • Sign-off Key Control Activities (KCAs) in adherence with the organization’s internal controls framework.
  • Review the account reconciliations as per the internal control framework and should be able to highlight and work with respective stakeholders to ensure all reconciliations are as per the laid-out policies and procedures. Ensure financial integrity of the inventory general ledger accounts by performing a thorough review of monthly reconciliations prepared by the team.
  • Working with the team and customer to ensure delivery as per agreed timelines.
  • Supervise the team for any merger and acquisition projects and transitions as well work as an individual contributor whenever required for such projects/transitions.
  • Preparation of Key Performance Indicators, Metrics and Dashboards for reporting to Management in a timely manner.
  • Actively participate and drive the team for team engagement and team bonding activities.
     

Job Requirements

What you will need to be successful

  • CMA (Qualified) / MBA (Finance) / CA or any other relevant discipline.
  • Atleast 8 to 10 years of experience in Cost Accounting/Inventory with minimum 3-4 years of team supervisory experience in a shared service center preferred.
  • Experience in the following areas would be preferred:
    • Manufacturing Accounting
    • Inventory Accounting
    • Product Costing
  • Exposure to SAP ERP environment (FI-CO module) as an end-user is a must.
  • Exposure to SAP ERP (CO-PCA module) preferred.
  • Well versed with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Presentation).
  • Experience in Blackline Reconciliations tool (preferred).
  • Expected to have strong technical understanding of accounting principles and demonstrated competence in their application.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing business needs and requirements.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and have a strong understanding of business process and systems.
  • Highly motivated and should be able to motivate the team.
  • Well organized and time management skills.
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple teams spread over different countries, centres and time zones.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
