IFF is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at our Institute Site in Institute, WV!

This job is responsible for championing a quality culture within POLYOXTM while assuring quality and enabling the business to profitably meet customer and product quality regulatory requirements. In addition, this position provides technical direction and support for the implementation and effective use of the business and corporate quality system.


Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Generate and use quality data (customer complaints, plant metrics etc.) to drive product quality improvements. 
  • Perform SAP quality transactions including batch usage decisions, batch determination, etc.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of the quality management system and communicate to leadership improvement opportunities. For example, raw material quality, supplier assessments, external manufacturing quality performance, etc. 
  • Serves as key quality contact for customers and other IFF functions regarding product quality issues.
  • Lead and participate in management of change reviews that potentially impact product quality (e.g. specification, train qualifications, plant equipment / systems, analytical testing, etc.). 
  • Ensure plant Operating Discipline system, procedures and guidelines meet quality system requirements, as appropriate (e.g. Good Manufacturing Practices, ISO 9001).
  • Ensure problem-solving techniques are utilized including root cause investigation process, corrective action process, etc. to effectively address customer product quality opportunities. 

Job Requirements


  • A four-year college degree in a field of interest to the Company. 
  • Five or more years of quality assurance related experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment where individuals often set priorities and complete work activities with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. 
  • Critical thinking, problem solving, and attention to detail skillsets.
  • Basic computer knowledge, including previous experience using Microsoft applications.

 The following are preferred: 

  • Engineering degree. 
  • Experience with active pharmaceuticals – API.
  • Experience with FDA process validation process.
