IFF is very excited to welcome a new Trade Compliance Specialist, EMEA  to our team, and we hope it’s you!

 

On this position, you will be part of the IFF Trade team in the EMEA region and will have responsibilities on the Nutrition and Biosciences business unit (N&B) of International Flavors and Fragrances (IFF). You will lead import and export compliance programs and operations for a group of EU countries, but also work as an EMEA CTC team member. The goal is full compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures in efficient and effective manner, ensuring on-time delivery to meet business needs.

 

Position Responsibilities:
•    Understand N&B Business VOC, spend and develop Logistics capability to meet business need
•    Implement trade compliance programs and import and export operations
•    Oversee and communicate regulatory changes with the development of best practices
•    Provide overall guidance and training to the business, and help them to meet regulatory requirements in doing business
•    Lead disciplined import and export operations by using right systems and processes, and conduct self-audit programs
•    Monitor, track and report compliance metrics, especially the performance of customs brokers services, leading improvement actions
•    Drive cost savings, especially in customs duty savings from FTAs, duty incentive and other programs
•    Drive continuous process improvement by working with suppliers and internal customers
•    Represent country compliance team, and act as a focal person for regional and global compliance networks
•    Remain first point of contact at local level for solving operation disputes, identify root causes and set up action plan by working with external suppliers and internal customers

Job Requirements

 

Education and Experience
•    You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Customs, International Trade or equal by experience
•    The preferred candidate will have minimum 5 years’ experience in import and export operations 
•    You will bring several years of practical work experience in the area of customs and trade compliance (customs declarant or equivalent)
•    Capability to develop and apply statistical and computer skills
•    Your computer skills: MS Office, knowledge of SAP environment
•    The preferred candidate will have experience with E-customs systems such as Atlas, SAP GTS

•    Your strong knowledge of local, international trading, and import and export regulations
•    Your leadership, teamwork and high ethical standards
•    Your good interpersonal and communication skills in English. Other EU languages will be a plus
•    Your networking capability and good interpersonal skills
•    Your presentation skills for training and influencing others
•    Your demonstrated problem- solving skills 
•    Your openness and ability to change, proactively seeking optimization and continuous improvement
