Our factories are high-tech food ingredient manufacturing facilities and are part of International Flavors and Fragrances (IFF). Our focus is on the production of bio-based food ingredients. The production is carried out using several processes, which range from traditional syntheses or biotechnology to various purification and completion processes. Our ingredients create value for our customers worldwide and help produce safer, healthier and more nutritious foods. Our products include: emulsifiers, hydrocolloids, functional systems / blends, antimicrobial products, enzymes and antioxidants. As the Manufacturing Technology Engineer (75% of the job), you will be responsible together with the local operations team for continuous improvement at the site.  The primary focus of this site is the extraction, drying, and blending of Rosemary Extracts.  The role of the process engineer includes process optimization to increase capacity and/or reduce cost, process automation upgrades, CAPEX projects, process safety management, as well as ad hoc support of manufacturing. You will work with both the local operations team as well as global technology colleagues to ensure most effective technology is implemented.
As Digital Champion (25% of the job), you will be responsible for implementing digital projects at multiple sites, including setting direction, defining the workplan/resources, and implementing/ developing digital tools in collaboration with technical experts at the plants. You will manage complex advanced analytics projects at manufacturing sites, coordinate a multi-functional team (data engineers, data scientists, designers as well as inputs of multiple end-user stakeholders), and drive a digital mindset within the organization. This will include developing expertise on key digital themes in the manufacturing area, such as Real-Time Process Optimization, predictive Maintenance and Energy Management.

The position reports to the Global Manufacturing Technology Manager for Food Protection.
Additionally, we are a very collaborative team and occasional global travel to other sites may be required as part of the Manufacturing Technology role. 

Job Requirements

-Bachelor’s degree or higher in chemical or mechanical engineering
-Experience in manufacturing technology, process R&D, or related role is preferred
-Experience with digital tools is preferred
-Fluent in English with good communication skills both written and oral
-Competent in Microsoft Office with high-level knowledge in Excel & PowerPoint
-Previous experience managing large and complex projects/programs is preferred
-Green Belt/Black Belt Six Sigma certification & statistical analysis expertise is preferred
-Knowledge of manufacturing unit operations, such as fluid flow, heat exchanging, spray, powder mixing, centrifugation, extraction, etc is preferred
-The ability to work independently, with excellent time management and judgment in prioritization skills is critical for this dual role
-Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required
