About you:
Overview: 
The Manufacturing Technology group provides technical support for business level projects and initiatives, with the mission of maintaining our process technology knowledge to enable:

•    Safe and reliable manufacture of products that meet our performance requirements
•    Quick and accurate response to business and customer needs
•    Effective execution of capital projects, product scale-ups, and process changes
•    Continuous improvement in process safety, product quality, and capacity

Responsibilities: 
As a Senior Process Engineer within our Biopolymers business, you will work with cross functional teams to ensure alignment among commercial, manufacturing, research & development, safety, heath & environmental functions.  You will focus on longer range process improvement initiatives and provide technical support for: 

•    Develop and document process technology information:
o    determine critical operating limits
o    develop both raw material and product specification ranges
o    understand transfer functions between operational parameters and physical properties, and applications performance
•    Conduct process safety assessment and improvement initiatives – implementation of process safety standards
•    Development and execution of quality yield and capacity improvement initiatives
•    Capital projects
•    Plant / process start-ups
•    Product scale-ups or transfers
•    Chronic production issues and process problems

You will be based at IFF’s Biopolymer manufacturing facility in Melle, France.  Your primary role will be to support the Biopolymer business within IFF’s Core Texturants division, but you may also be called upon to support other technologies as needed.  You will report to the Global MT Improvement Leader for Core Texturants.

If you're an experienced Chemical Engineer with related technical experience and enjoy supporting and managing projects in a chemical plant environment, this role will afford you the opportunity to manage exciting projects as a member of the Manufacturing Technology team.
 

Job Requirements

Required Education:

 •    Engineer Diploma in Chemical Engineering
 
Qualifications: 
•    Minimum of 5 years’ experience with continuous and batch processes within the food/chemical industry
•    Technical competence in engineering fundamentals and ability to interpret data and apply scientific principles, theories and concepts
•    Strong problem solving, prioritization, and risk-based management skills
•    Strategic agility with foresight and the ability to create alternate plans 
•    Data based decision making and strong results driven/action orientated approach to projects
•    Demonstrated history of delivering results bringing projects in safely, on time and on budget
•    Demonstrated competency interacting with internal customers 
•    Strong safety orientation including familiarity with process safety management principles 
•    Ability to work cross functionally with R&D, Applications, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Analytical, and Commercial teams
•    Ability to effectively present in both informal and formal settings 
•    Proficiency in English and French, both spoken and written (on daily basis)
