$10,000 sign-on bonus eligibility - this will be paid out over a 3 year period. 3 months after date of hire $2,500, 1 year anniversary $3,000 and 3rd year anniversary $4,500.
International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF) is looking for multiple Mechanics to join our team in Memphis, TN! You will work in a high performance, fast paced, industrial production environment. Working rotating shift, over-time, as well as weekends and holidays, are required.
This position normally works an eight (8) hour shift; however other shifts schedules may be required as business needs dictate. Employees in positions at this level support achievement of plant objectives through maintaining manufacturing or packaging equipment at required operating levels by adjusting or replacing parts as necessary to facilitate the repair and/or changeover of equipment to manufacture or package various products. The role maintains manufacturing and/or packaging equipment at required operating levels, through the performance of preventative/predictive maintenance and major overhauls in order to meet departmental production standards on equipment.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Install and align new equipment.
- Gather/process data from multiple sources related to electrical/mechanical failures.
- Service, troubleshoot and repair any problem of any electrical/mechanical nature.
- Perform preventative/predictive maintenance on equipment as assigned.
- Troubleshoot and maintain PLCs and VSDs.
- Install /align pump coupling and v-belts, install bearings, install/connect motors/starter.
- Maintain/replace/rebuild process/utility equipment (C-30 Drive spindle, Grinder UT 62 spindle, Labour pumps, etc.)
- Plan/assemble/install/maintain/troubleshoot/repair electrical fixtures and wiring.
- Test/repair fire alarm systems, water and gas distribution, fuel oil, cooling tower and compressed air systems.
- Remove and replace electric motor heaters and remove and install centrifuges.
- Measure vibrations and perform typical soldering, acetylene cutting and welding of an advanced nature.
- Perform pipe fitting layout, installation and repair work.
- Pack steam valves and install pump packing.
- Remove and replace valves and inspect/troubleshoot pump systems.
- Inspect and replace hoses, blowout panels.
- Use basic hand and power tools and shop equipment competently.
- Perform preventative/predictive maintenance on equipment as assigned.
- Troubleshoot mechanical failures repair mechanical failures.
- Gather and process data from multiple sources related to electrical failures.
- Verify job is complete and machine made whole before turnover.
- Execute assigned work orders and accept a minimum of 60% of call-ins.
- Perform PLC 2 and 5 programming.
- Analysis and/or troubleshooting using Allen-Bradley T-3, T-50, T-47 shop computer.
- Test and repair fire alarm systems, water distribution, fuel oil, gas distribution, cooling tower, and compressed air systems.
Job Requirements
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Applicant must attain a Work KEY skills test score of 20 or higher
- Must attain a Bennett Mechanical Comprehension Test (BMCT) test score of 48 or higher
- 5+ years of experience in an industrial maintenance, trade school, technical institute or related environment
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Working knowledge of pumps, conveyors, pipe fitting, welding, and motor-controlled circuits
- Ability to wear job-specific personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ability to operate computers and other computerized control systems
- Ability to tolerate exposure to hot and cold conditions
