IFF Animal Nutrition is seeking a highly skilled person, based in Mexico and fluent in English and Spanish, for the position of Regional Technical Manager Latam North.

IFF Animal Nutrition develops and sells high-value products (e.g. enzymes, betaine and direct feed microbial, Essential Oils) and services to the animal production and feed industries (poultry, swine, aqua and ruminants).  The position requires someone with market knowledge, Animal Nutrition expertise and customer relationships as well as skills and experience in applying highly valuable technical solutions to these industries’ needs. You will report to the AN&H LA Sales Leader.  You will work with other team members in the region (The Americas), as well as our Global technical Team, central R&D and Global Marketing, Technical application teams and Regional Industry Leaders. Your responsibility will be fundamentally aligned to the sales team in your region.

  • You will be responsible for the technical support of IFF Animal Nutrition products and services in Mexico, and potentially Central America. It might have the possibility to help other regions in Latin America also.
  1. Packages of products and services offered to customers will be determined based on gross profit and gross margin to IFF Animal Nutrition for the specific market and customer. The sales contracts with customers may include specific services and technology that need to be managed.  You are responsible for assuring that high quality services are delivered. You will be assigned specific tasks for specific customers. Customers may have multiple technical needs that are covered by multiple people.
  2. It will be your responsibility to assure that the appropriate product and its concentration is being applied to meet the customer’s objective. You will manage periodic tests of product concentration in the feed for specific customers. Eventually it will be required to collect animal parts to be sent to laboratories and follow with the analysis. Will be request also to collect feed samples and evaluate feed mill process.
  • You will be responsible for managing customer and company product trials and organize/participate in regional and global R&D projects as required.
  • You will be responsible to disseminate technical information to veterinarians or other related animal nutrition personnel.
  1. Eventually will be required to participate in congress, events and present papers.
  2. You will be responsible to work with distributors to provide technical support and conduct trainings.

  • You will be responsible for reporting monthly progress to LA Sales Leader and to retain important information using the Information Technology tools provided by the company (e.g. Customer Relationship Management reports and databases).  This information will include:
  1. Customer strategies and progress on major accounts (aligned with Sales Manager´s strategies)
  2. Market intelligence on competitive products and new products and technologies entering the marketplace. Competitors main actions in work territory.
  3. Other important business/technical information for your territory.
  • It is expected that you will contribute to the development of business strategy for your territory, for the region, and for the global business.
  1.   You are expected to be familiar with technologies that are relevant to our business strategy and to provide suggestions for utilization of these technologies, strategic partnerships/alliances with companies producing these technologies, and for identifying potential acquisition targets for our business.
  2.  You are expected to understand competitive threats to our business and to suggest, develop and implement strategic responses to those threats.
  3. You will attend and participate in regional and global and technical meetings for IFF / Danisco Animal Nutrition. 
  • Your performance will be evaluated annually based on your ability to meet these targets/responsibilities.
  • Educational Required: A bachelor’s degree in animal science, Veterinarian, agricultural or other related business is required. A diploma in Animal Science with sufficient knowledge and experience in feed or animal health is an adequate qualification.
  • Personal qualities required: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, punctual, team oriented, strong work ethic, goal oriented, patient.
