Role Overview

 

International Fragrances & Flavors Inc (IFF) is looking for an entry-to-mid-level Process Engineer for the Migdal HaEmek site in Israel. The Engineer will work as a key team member in the production team supporting production operations, continuous improvement, and capital projects.


A successful candidate will provide process improvement and troubleshooting support and will also participate in and/or lead numerous divisional projects with local and global scope. The position is instrumental in analyzing process information, developing conceptual improvements, and designing and carrying out experiments needed to make decisions and driving them from the conceptual phase to the implementation of those improvements.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Monitoring and reporting on process performance trends, product cost, and operational logistics. 
  • Design and execution of experiments to improve process performance.
  • Working with plant operational teams to drive continuous improvement efforts. 
  • Support for new product and technology introductions to the plant, interfacing with others in the company such QA/QC/R&D/maintenance/purchasing departments.
  • Execution of detailed projects covering technical aspects of manufacturing.
  • Lead process documentation updates for industrialized processes including, but not limited to batch sheets, training documents, SOPs, etc.
  • Design and development of operations protocols, processing equipment installations, and plant upgrades.
  • Develop ideas to improve overall plant performance using sound engineering sciences. 
  • Analyze data for ongoing operations to provide direction on upgrades for improved quality and cost.
  • Lead site-specific programs or projects leveraging site, global, and external resources. Exert personal influence cross-functionally to define solutions to technical issues.
  • Acts in compliance with all company policies including, but not limited to: Quality, Safety, Food/Feed Safety, Environmental, GMPs, and HACCP.

Job Requirements

 

  • Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology or Chemistry.
  • Process design expertise, e.g. calculation of material and energy balances, equipment specification, and facility layout design.
  • 1+ years of experience in process engineering is preferred.
  • Automation and Process Control experience is highly desired.
  • Applied working knowledge separation, extraction and drying processing technology is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written in English. 
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.

 

Direct reporting to the production manager.


In addition, he will accompany the production department in all current processes and will be involved in various projects that involve the implementation of process improvements, acceptance and adjustment of new processes, knowledge of new technologies, etc.
