Role Focus

 

We are currently seeking to appoint a Business Development Manager, Greater Asia at our Taura site in Tauranga. Reporting to the Global Product Line Manager, this role requires you to ensure profitable sales growth at Global and Regional key accounts.


The position supports the Nourish sales organisation by defining the Taura value proposition on a customer level and by managing and executing complex projects for these customers. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, customer-focused and adaptable team player who is looking to progress their career and add real value to our Tauranga facility 

 

How you will Contribute and Lead

 

  • Rolling out and executing the Taura Business Development strategy.
  • Representing for key and high potential accounts, visiting and meeting with customers alongside Regional Sales to manage complex projects.
  • Informing the key account teams on Taura’s target customers, value proposition and offering.
  • Market creation: convincing both the internal and external customer of the added value of Taura products.
  • Being the go-to person for Technical and Commercial support on complex customer projects.
  • Managing projects, planning key accounts and strategies by analyzing the customer, market, global trends and insights.
  • Helping to identify white gaps, key opportunities, SWOT, competitive pressures, experience from other regions, framing the opportunity and helping to execute.
  • Ability to commercialize new innovations.
  • Helping to prioritize the right projects by setting the key development priorities and timing constraints.
  • Connect with internal stakeholders on all the above.
  • Coach, steer and motivate a small team of Business Development Managers. 
     

Job Requirements

What you will need to be successful

 

  • At least 8-10 years’ Business Development and Sales experience.
  • Tertiary qualification in Food Science or Technology or similar highly desired.
  • Extensive food industry knowledge, preferably well network in the industry.
  • Customer relationship management (CRM) and B2B sales proven track record.
  • Expertise in leading complex projects with cross functional teams.
  • Experience in conducting white gap analysis, opportunity identification and conversion highly regarded.
  • High level of business acumen: Commercial, Financial, Technical, Operational and Marketing.
  • Expertise in Excel, PowerPoint, Marketing and presentation. 
  • Experience in SalesForce or other CRM is an asset.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Capability in managing small team and development of direct team members.
  • Outstanding team player who is smart, enthusiastic, with "can do" attitude, and who aspire to work for a business where they can make a difference
