Process Operator II - Finishing - New Century, KS

 

IFF is seeking a Process Operator II to join our Finishing team in New Century, KS! If you are a dependable and hard-working individual who has a great attendance record, then this is the role for you! 

 

$2,500 sign on bonus for external applicants!


As a Process Operator II , you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and general maintenance of all automated, semi-automated and manually operated packaging equipment. The environment can consist of excessive dust and powders. You will also be required to operate a fork lift on a minimal basis. Fork truck certification will be provided during your first week of training.

 

 

Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

 

  • Safe and effective operation and preventive maintenance of all automated packaging equipment.
  • Proper handling, packaging and labeling, coding and marking of product.
  • Accurate and timely sampling and reporting of production and packaging usage to production management.
  • Clean dusty vessels.
  • Accurate and timely reporting of production and transfers.
  • Safe, healthy and clean work environment.  Report all accidents or near misses to supervisor.
  • Timely back up of other production staff.
  • Regular on time attendance.
  • Effective and efficient I/return and/or re melt processing.
  • Proper communication with maintenance is required concerning the performance of equipment.
  • Effective evaluation of the quality of all packaging raw materials consumed in the operation.
  • Housekeeping:  Ensure all production areas are kept clean and free of clutter.
  • All changes are completed in an efficient and timely manner.

Job Requirements

The following are required:

 

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in accordance with the company safety & sanitation standards.
  • Able to maintain a good attendance record while also showing up on time consistently .
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Willing and able to lift up to 55 lbs.
  • Willing and able to stand for extended periods (approx. 95% of the day).
  • Willing and able to climb stairs and vertical ladders on a frequent basis.
  • Willing and able to wear a respirator and other personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Willing and able to work both outdoors and indoors in hot, cold, wet and dry conditions.

 

The following are preferred:

 

  • A two-year technical degree.
  • Production line or manufacturing experience.
  • Previous food plant experience.
  • Exposure to automated packaging equipment.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Forklift experience.


Required Experience 

 

  • High School Diploma/GED
