Job Description

  • Take responsibility for analysis of technical accounting issues and prepare drafts of analyses. Work with the business to gather the required data for analysis. Take the lead on specific initiatives including: purchase accounting; review of leases; review of recoverability of goodwill.
  • Active participant in special projects as they arise.
  • Coordinating with Business Units to identify and resolve accounting issues.
  • Assist in the review of SEC Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K and other required filings for the Company (including review of Proxy and drafting 11-K). On a monthly basis, review regional and corporate journal entries including the share-based compensation calculation.
  • Over the next year or so focus will be on accounting for a large acquisition, assisting with refresh of accounting policies, and assisting with the Finance Transformation project.
  • Work closely with the Senior Manager of Technical Accounting and Accounting Policy as well as the Manager of Financial Reporting and the Manager of Internal Controls/S-OX.

Job Requirements

  • BS in Accounting or Finance.
  • A CPA with 3 to 5 years of experience in either public accounting or a mix of public/private experience.  Active CPA license is mandatory.
  • Previous experience working in accounting research. 
  • Candidate must have a full understanding of current U.S. GAAP and FASB technical pronouncements. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
  • The candidate must be able to communicate, discuss issues, and work directly with senior management.
  • Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, and relationship management skills are required.
