Product Safety Site Leader

Job Description

IFF has an exciting opportunity for a Food Safety Site Leader / Coordinator at the IFF Newark, DE site. The IFF Newark site is part of the IFF Pharma solutions business and is a leading supplier to the food and pharmaceutical industries. This position is responsible for the overall implementation of the site’s micro-testing program and compliance with food safety and defense standards.

Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the following;

• Lead plant HAACP/GMP program and ISO quality system through internal audits, document control, and driving continuous improvement.
• Manage the site's microbiological environmental control program.
• Coordinate and own the site's pest control program.
• Enforce personal hygiene practices and all food safety programs. Train new hires on food safety regulations, policies, and standards.
• Review daily quality records to ensure compliance to SOP's.
• Ensure lab and plant compliance with CGMP and FDA guidelines.
• Relevant department standard operating procedures and update as needed to comply with CFR and USB requirements.
• Support QMS improvement initiatives in Newark quality organization.
• Maintain site SOPs and ETQ (in QMS).
• Lead FSSC audits.
   

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in life sciences preferred, Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum five years experience in a food, chemical, or manufacturing environment with a minimum of two years of experience in quality control or quality assurance functions.
• Food and or pharmaceutical microbiology knowledge is preferred.
• Knowledge of common microbiological requirements for food and or pharma, manufacturing, and chemistry is required.
• Maintaining site SOPs and ETQ (in QMS).
• PCQI, HACCP certification, GMP, and FSSC knowledge preferred.
• Knowledge of kosher and halal requirements is preferred.
• Basic statistical skills.
• Demonstrated ability to influence teams and resolve conflicts in support of organizational goals.
• Interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to work effectively, professionally, and respectfully in a team-based environment to involve peers, customers, line management, and technical competency experts.
