We are looking for an enthusiastic business intelligence professional who can translate market and customer data into valuable business insights. You will facilitate business operations, business strategy and business planning processing by offering tailored business information. 

In a daily base you will drive actionable market insights to support marketing, product managers and sales. 

The Business Intelligence Specialist will be an integral member of the wider Cultures & Food Enzymes marketing team and will report directly to the Global Marketing Director Cultures and Food Enzymes. Moreover he/she will champion good leadership behavior and demonstrate IFF Values in the approach to colleagues and work activities in general. 

Preferably you will be based in The Netherlands, but location can be flexible across Europe or LATAM.


Key Responsibilities
 

•    Develop and implement the business intelligence strategy and plan
•    Acquire, update and analyze relevant information about the market and the business environment
•    Transform data/information into intelligence reports and presentations 
•    Facilitate and support strategy processes
•    Advise management in a proactive manner on identified market developments
•    Offer analytical concepts and advice on preferred options 
•    Develop and maintain an adequate database structure, to assure easy access to desired information
•    Understand and advocates the use of automated systems and tools to collect and analyze data
•    Ensure close collaboration and alignment within the own discipline as well as other disciplines
•    Build and maintain a network of internal and external contacts
•    Evaluate, select, contract and appraise market research firms
•    Drive continuous improvement of business research process

•    Analyze and integrate data and makes rational judgements based on facts

•    Strategic marketing (segment attractiveness, value chain dynamics, competitor landscape, customer overview, etc.)
•    Understanding of market analysis tools such as focus groups, big data, consumer insights generation, concept testing etc. 
•    Market segmentation, channel management and competitive position understanding 
•    Understanding or profit impact of value-based pricing vs. cost plus pricing, cost dynamics, cost-in-use, customer value and breakeven analysis
•    Excellent organizational and project management skills and ability to meet deadlines 
•    Strong desire to learn along with professional drive
•    High level of leadership and ability to communicate, present and influence key stakeholders at all levels
•    Self starter, fast learner, and able to work independently
•    Intellectual curiosity, a collaborative spirit, and a proactive attitude
•    Problem solver with can do attitude 
•    Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment


Qualifications
 

•    Master’s degree or equivalent experience in business administration, marketing or international business 
•    Knowledge and at least 6 years’ experience in own discipline 
•    Know-how on food ingredients or food industry market is desired
•    Excellent verbal and written communications skills 
•    Fluent in English is a must
•    Computer literacy – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SAP, Sharepoint, SalesForce, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, etc. 
•    Experience in commercial positions
