Preferred locations would be Leiden (Netherlands), or Poland. But we are open for having this position being 100% remote based in EU, as long as our future colleague is based close enough to an international airport. We expect that our colleague will be travelling about 50% of the time with this position.

Basic purpose:

•    Provide technical support to the commercial network established in the selected territory. 
•    Follow up marketing plan and proactively participate in the events planned to achieve the objectives of the commercial team in the subregion.
•    Develop distributor and customer intimacy to maintain sales position and create situations that permit growth in the existing markets.
•    Driver of the technical support level increase with selected Key Accounts.

Key tasks & responsibilities:

•    Provide technical support to distributors and customers to win and or sustain sales as part of the agreed customer strategy.
•    Effective management and dissemination of product research/application data/information and assay data to distributors and customers.
•    Support nutrition advice and recommendations based on Company’s product portfolio characteristics.
•    Manage product evaluation and development trials with contracted research institutes as well as key customers, liaising with the Innovation and Technical Services Leaders as necessary. 
•    Conduct feed manufacturing trials in customer’s house/provide recommendations/consultancy to the customers in the complex field of feed technology.
•    Effective training and development of distributors to develop and sustain their value selling capability. 
•    Proactive communication with distributors and customers.
•    Maintain fluent contact with distributors and monitor their technical developments.
•    Train and ensure Distributors and customers conform with product safety, storage and handling procedures.
•    Support product regulatory compliance for the territory and assisting in technical matters related to product registration.
•    Continuous reporting to sales on technical service, competition activities and developments, market opportunities and competitive intelligence.
•    Monitoring performance through the year, identifying and taking appropriate action where necessary, including monthly reporting.
 

Job Requirements

Experience and Competencies:

•    At least 8 years of experience in the animal feed industry.
•    University degree in Animal Nutrition.
•    Ability to formulate animal diets’ and establish discussion with nutritionist and decision makers.
•    Experience of at least 5 years in feed production technology.
•    Extensive business success in similar or related industry sector, including elements of product management and senior level negotiation with major customers preferably in an international setting.
•    Fluent in English, French or German would be a plus.
•    Team interaction a must.
•    Presentation and communication skills.
•    Good self-leadership. Must have initiative, motivation, proactivity, be tenacious and positive.
•    Familiar with Microsoft Office package, internet explorer. Any other IT tool appreciated.
•    Methodical, systematic approach.
•    Prepared and able to work in an international business environment with significant international travel time (about 50%)
