Our IFF team in Palo Alto, located at the Genencor Technology & Innovation Center, have been pioneers in the industrial biotechnology field for over 40 years.
We are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to join our Process Development team. In this role, you will be working with a group of scientists and engineers in our state-of-the-art research & development facility. This team is responsible for the fast-paced and hands-on development of biologically products including enzymes, proteins, and microbes across a range of businesses. You will have exposure to all stages of process development: from discovery to manufacturing technology transfer.
Job Requirements
- Responsibilities will include contributing to the development of liquid and solid enzyme formulations through preparation, characterization, and testing of a wide variety of enzyme compositions.
- The successful candidate will develop and troubleshoot methods aimed at measuring the chemical, physical, and microbiological characteristics of protein formulations.
- Work independently to design, plan, execute, and analyze scalable process experiments in laboratory and pilot plant.
- Work collaboratively with process technicians, development engineers, research scientists, and global supply teams to resolve technical challenges.
- Transfer of new processes into global manufacturing sites and support of continual improvement.
- Investigate and develop new methods and technologies for advancement of projects.
- Preparation and presentation of technical reports, data summaries, protocols, and other technical and regulatory documentation.
- This position requires hands-on work in the laboratory and pilot plant with successful demonstration of process scale up to commercialization.
Requirements:
- Training: Biochemical / Chemical Engineering or related field
- BS/MS with 0 – 5 years hands-on experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Team player
- Self-starter with good organizational skills
- Some travel required
Compensation ($90,960 - 102,330) is based on a variety of factors including but not limited to work experience, skills, certifications, and location.
