General Description:
The Palo Alto Research & Development Site is looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to join our Facilities team as a Maintenance Technician. This individual will be responsible for equipment maintenance and repair activities on building and lab/pilot plant systems, will further develop maintenance programs with various site teams, and will be a key contributor to the site maintenance strategy for new and existing equipment. In this role, you will be part of a talented creative team applying cutting edge technology to address customer needs in a wide range of applications.
Specific Duties Include
- Ensures work requests for the laboratory and building systems are fulfilled in a timely manner
- Conduct detailed maintenance and troubleshooting activities on process equipment and systems
- Able to respond to service calls and emergency situations including afterhours
- Coordinate calibration, maintenance, and repair activities with external vendors as required
- Develop and revise preventive maintenance Standard Operating Procedures
- Generate proper reports and documentation, follow up on corrective and preventive measures
- Support staff training to improve site knowledge and overall team performance
- Apply knowledge of electrical and electronic disciplines, pneumatic, and mechanical disciplines
- Communicate effectively with scientists, engineers, production staff
- Collect and organize technical data from equipment manufacturers and users
- Participate in lab construction and equipment moves, share best operational practices
- Ensure functions are performed safely with respect to applicable regulations and company policies
Job Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- Education/Training: AA/AS Degree or equivalent
- 4+ years of experience in biotech or industrial maintenance setting
- Proven success in team environment with the ability to be the key technical contributor
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter with good organizational skills

Compensation ($64,100 - $100,200) is based on a variety of factors including but not limited to work experience, skills, certifications, and location.
