We are a global leader in taste, scent and nutrition, offering our customers a wide range of science-based solutions.  We are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Media Prep/Glassware Technician in our media kitchen in Palo Alto, CA. In this role you will be part of a team applying cutting edge biotechnology to address customer needs in a wide range of industrial applications.  We are offering a $500.00 sign on bonus for this position.

The ideal candidate will have:
•    Hands-on experience in Media Prep, preferable in a non-academic setting.
•    Effective time management and organizational skills, strong, math skills.
•    Familiarity with standard office computer software: email, timekeeping, Microsoft office
•    Strong customer service skills, problem-solving skills and ability to work independently after initial training period.
•    Ability to troubleshoot issues and follow up as necessary.
•    Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills 
•    Ability to work in a team-oriented environment with minimal supervision.
•    High School diploma or GED plus one (1) year lab experience or equivalent experience required.

Role Requirements:
•    This role provides essential support to our research teams in the preparation of all media, buffers, and plates. Also, clean and sterilization of glassware and consumables. 
•    Able to occasionally lift 30 lbs.
•    Accurately prepare media per recipe or customer guidelines following established protocols and SOPS.
•    Clean and sterilize glassware. Sterilize, restock and maintain working levels of all commonly stocked liquid media, plates, and glassware.
•    Perform general lab maintenance and housekeeping per department procedures.
•    Follow safety guidelines, equipment procedures, and chemical handling guidelines.
•    Operate autoclaves, glassware washers, plate fillers, and agar dispensers.
•    Participate in continuous improvement efforts to increase quality and service levels, improve process safety, efficiency, and reliability
