Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our Nourish team as a Process Engineer. This position is based in Thailand and report to Plant Manager, Nourish.


Your Focus

As Process Engineer, you will be responsible for the management of the operation and maintenance of the pilot plant in support of the Process R&D Process Engineering group. This includes coordination of production of sample batches for customer and internal use. In addition, you will manage pilot plant trials in support of process improvements with the local and global stakeholders and help in the collection and interpretation of experimental data.

It is expected that this individual will take a hands-on approach in their job, including operating process equipment and working closely with technician and Operations staff as required bringing assigned projects to completion.

 

How You Will Contribute

  • Designs and plans laboratory and pilot experiments in support of new product development and manufacturing improvement according to New Product Introduction (NPI).  Plans experiments, gathers accurate data, performs analysis, summarizes findings, and writes reports.  Uses scientific and engineering methodologies. Elaboration of technical batch reports including interpretation and conclusions. Communication of project result and share pilot plans and Main Plant trials results
  • Leads scale-up and trial batches in manufacturing. Prepares temporary batch instructions and process change documents for non-standard processing. Participates in HACCP and safety reviews.
  • Communicates clearly with R&D, Operations, and manufacturing personnel, as needed.  May also work directly with both internal and external suppliers and/or customers.
  • Participates on new Project investment in basic engineering specifications and supports start up procedure.
  • Understanding of the Production and Process flow.  Sound knowledge on the equipment and their design parameters. Knowledge of interpreting flow diagrams and can be able to be setting the best standardize.
  • Write SOPs as required for new pieces of equipment and/or new process implementation Investigate process.
  • Investigate existing processes for optimizations where applicable, make recommendations and implement improvements.
  • Write manufacturing SOPs and Recipes (SAP text) for new formula creations. Validate the existing formulations for the correctness and appropriateness of recipe and do modification.
  • Provides process training (refresher training) for existing and new processes.
  • Involves in Process Innovation to ensure First Time Right scale and continuous product quality and process improvements.
  • Well versed with the Process Safety Management (PSM) and Process Hazard Analysis principles to ensure that the flow, process and equipment adheres to safety standards.  Be the custodian of Process safety and lead PHA/RA/MOC for new processes.
  • Evaluates new process design, assign equipment resources and provide input for value added costing analyses.
  • Drives continuous process improvement through problem solving with cross-functional teams using Statistical Process Control and Lean Manufacturing tools, such as Process Flow mapping, 5s, and Six Sigma.
  • Monitors processes for efficiency and investigates quality non-conformances.
  • Develops repair protocol for rejected batches (i.e. adjustment, rework, blend off etc.).
  • Works under Operations in the required Technology to gain product knowledge.
  • Member of Green Team that will work on Sustainability projects with cross functional teams.
  • Supports CAPEX design and implementation for new equips/facilities and makes economical estimates.

What you will need to be successful

  • Degree in Industrial or Chemical Engineering related field or any other relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 5 - 7 years of experience in a variety of discipline including manufacturing / quality in cross functional teams. Experience in the scale up process from lab to pilot/main plant will be desired.
  • Good knowledge of GMP, Scale up, Process Control and Quality Management.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and English command is necessary.
  • Strong leadership and organizing capability.
  • Good troubleshooting skills using knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques or 6 Sigma Methodologies.
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Excel, Word, Power point, Access).
  • Knowledge in SAP is a plus.
  • Good chemical engineering aptitude and knowledge with statistical process control abilities.
  • Knowledge of GMP processing operations.
  • Industry 4.0 related skills.
