About You:


In this role you will manage a team of Food Designers to develop applications that showcase new and existing Tastepoint by IFF flavors, ingredients, technologies and capabilities for use in presentations and to execute customer project briefs.  You will provide technical information and assistance to all Tastepoint departments as necessary, and interact with all account managers and customers in technical assist areas.  Excellent communication skills, intrapersonal skills, coaching skills and decision making is highly required.

Job Requirements


As the Application Manager for Bakery, Bars, Cereal, Confectionery, your responsibilities are…


•Manage the execution of daily project briefs to deliver on customer’s expectations and timelines.
•Develop bakery, bars, cereal and confectionery prototypes using Tastepoint flavors/ingredients and technology.
•Supervise Food Technologists directing their daily priorities, tasks, and constructing career development plans.  
•Work directly with Flavorists to evaluate and select flavors to execute project briefs. 
•Implement and execute strategic initiatives.
•Manage project pipeline, prepare project reports, drive sales.
•Set clear goals and allocate resources to meet customer timelines and maximize win rate on projects. 
•Conduct customer and internal presentations to share category capabilities and prototypes.
•Provide all necessary technical communications to account managers, business development, marketing, and others.
•To benefit the company by participation as requested in professional outside activities including National Institute of Food Technologists Tastepoint booth.
•Participation in all internal sensory panels.
•Record all formulations, procedures, sensory data on company computer system.
•Sustain Applications and Product Development department laboratory section equipment and supplies needed for all projects to be completed on time.
•Work in client manufacturing facilities when required for possible scale-ups.



Required Skills and Experience 


•Extensive knowledge of Bakery, Bars and Confectionery in food science and technology, marketed food product types and laboratory procedures. 
•Product development/formulation of products and sensory testing abilities.
•Business acumen.
•B.S. Degree in Food Science of equivalent plus a minimum of 10 years of industry experience.
•Team management.
•MBA preferred.
