Job Description

About You

As a team member, your role is to produce product samples utilizing dry and liquid processing technology, washed extracts, chemical and thermal reactions, homogenization, emulsion and filtering technologies in order to deliver and ensure consistent homogenous quality flavor results as developed and approved by the Flavor Chemists.  This valued team member works under the direction of the Sample Lab Supervisor and Sample Lab Manager and is primarily responsible for the execution of timely production requirements, successfully meeting schedules without sacrificing quality or safety, and with minimal to no loss of product or rejected batches. To be successful, the incumbent must execute and organize batches efficiently, and collaborate with the Flavor Chemists for product knowledge, training and direction on problem batches and with Management to stay abreast of all quality, safety and operating practices and procedures.  All of our team members are expected to demonstrate professional behaviors and practices of cooperation

Job Requirements

How you will spend your time

Sample Compounder duties which include compounding batches, maintaining their share of House Keeping responsibilities, returning materials to stock, Covering for other technicians while on vacation, requesting material deliveries from inventory.
Responsibility for fully understanding powder and liquid blending, mixing technologies, filtering and decanter processes and liquid fill packaging to produce quality product;
Working knowledge of liquid storage handling and dispensing; stock conversion transactions to ensure inventory is utilized properly and customer orders are met on time
Working knowledge of all quality and safety standards are met along with all company policies and procedures
Proactively recognize and address non-conformance and report repetitive issues to Sample Lab Supervisor/Manager
Conduct and follow Pre-op Check List
Execute daily assigned production tasks on time
Review each batch report noting any special instructions, equipment settings, PPE’s, or processes
Review, validate, and obtain authorization for any formulation changes through Quality or Flavorist


Required Skills and Experience 

2 to 3 years compounding experience, working knowledge of the production facility, warehouse functions, Proficient in Excel.
High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Associates or Bachelors degree in a related field, Previous leadership or trainer role, preferred forklift certified.
Ability to read, comprehend and interpret documents such as safety rules, formulations, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, company processes and forms in the English language.
