Job Description

As a Culinary Application Design Technologist, you will have the opportunity to contribute to some of the most exciting projects in the flavor and food industry, and will be responsible for the Application support of projects for key Customers across the region. You will be working together with Flavorists, Sales, R&D, & Marketing and in close contact with colleagues in other sites.

We welcome all Applications category experience but the current focus is on the Culinary Category.

Job Requirements

How you will spend your time:


Drive sales through a strong customer focus:
Urgent response to customer needs as part of a customer focused Creative and Design team
Responsible for presentations to specific clients, including concept development in soup, sauce, snacks, protein, and meals
Support customer visits to the Tastepoint Philadelphia Creative Center
Proactively identify opportunities to align with trends and technologies within the region


Project support and execution of category strategy:
Build Tastepoint strength and position within the category and in the market
Generate proactive presentations to demonstrate key flavor technologies
Performs both Internal and External Presentations including business travel to various clients in North America
Collaboration and knowledge exchange with IFF Creative Centers /Application Satellites


Team and self-development:
Participate, as necessary, in IFF and Tastepoint training programs
Guidance of Juniors, Trainees or Students, Learning from Senior and Principal Colleagues


Improve internal business processes:
Foster learning environment to enable proper understanding of taste within the region
Ensure proper selection process in place to increase the amount of wins
Deliver the highest possible quality of application work to customer.
Partner with account team to ensure end-use capabilities are within the functional strategies


About You:


Bachelors in Food Science, Culinary Science, processing technology or related Applied Science.
7+ years in flavor, food ingredients, or related end-use industry.
Expertise/knowledge in cross category end-use applications for Culinary/Savory.
Team player who is independently driven
Exceptional tasting skills and knowledge in Flavors development
Strong knowledge in food safety, raw materials, food regulations, and sanitations.
Strong knowledge in industrial and culinary product processing.
Strong organizational, analytical and project management capabilities
Excellent communication skills
Exploratory mindset, problem solving skills.
Cross-Category experience (sweet, dairy, and/or beverage) in flavors and/or ingredients is a plus
