The Product Safety Site Leader has responsibility for overall continuous improvement and manufacturing programs including continuous improvement teams, root cause analysis and CAPA (Corrective and Preventative Action) investigations in a fast-paced production environment. They’ll also coordinate the implementation of Manufacturing principles.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Promote a continuous improvement and quality culture and awareness within your area of responsibility. Support and enforce all plant integrated management system policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner.

 

  • Identify and champion opportunities for continuous improvement initiatives. Incorporate principles of lean manufacturing such as 5S. In coordination with the Maintenance and Production Coordinators, manage the TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) implementation schedule.
  • Identifying vendor process improvement opportunities based on nonconformance trends. Work with GP to have vendors work on non-conformances.
  • Provide status updates on process improvements and customer complaints to the management team in a regular basis.
  • Managing complexity by strategizing daily duties and making a good prioritization.
  • High level of interacting with the management team and escalating issues in a timely matter.
  • Represent IFF and manage the 3rd party auditing to ensure compliance of the facility to the standard.
  • Fairly and consistently adhere to all Company and Plant procedures, work rules and guidelines. 
  • Work to build training content and organize training sessions as needed. Communicate methods, changes, scheduling, etc. as appropriate and required cross-functionally throughout the organization.
  • Foster and maintain good employee relations through all the appropriate methods of communications and positive employee relations practices.
  • Manage all related technical systems, technologies, machines, and equipment as required.
  • Implement and track operational key performance indicators (KPI) for the quality area, monitor evolution and having operational reviews weekly/monthly.
  • May be required to support the operation outside of assigned shift hours or on weekends as needed. Ensures all quality and safety practices are always followed. 
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Job Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical or Industrial) or Business required.
  • 5 years' experience in a variety of disciplines including quality, manufacturing, and/or cross functional teams.
  • Excellent training, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Experience managing customer and certification bodies. 
  • Prior experience in continuous improvement initiatives and Lean implementation a plus.
  • Preferred experience in Flavor/Food/Fragrance/Cosmetic Industry.
  • Excellent organizational/time management skills preferred.
  • Certified Six Sigma Greenbelt/Black belt.
  • Certified ASQ Quality Engineer.
  • ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor Certified preferred.
  • ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor Certified HACCP preferred.
  • PCQI certification preferred.
