We are currently seeking our next Senior Food Technologist to join the Dairy Applications Team at our Philadelphia, PA location and help grow the spark.


About You:


In this role, you will lead, manage, and execute dairy projects (yogurt, milk, ice cream, frozen novelties, pudding, coffee creamer, etc.) by providing the highest quality flavor applications to internal and external customers. You will be collaborating with flavorists, sensory and consumer insights, sales, marketing, and business development to drive category strategies and customer initiatives. 

Job Requirements

As the Senor Food Technologist, your responsibilities are…


•Develop new prototypes for demonstrating the company’s flavors and ingredients to customers through proactive and reactive presentations.
•Lead the execution of dairy projects in coordination and in collaboration with various departments.
•Provide technical assistance and flavor expertise to customers for problem solving and product development.
•Support sensory through preparation of samples for testing and routine flavor evaluations for the flavor collections.
•Lead technical customer visits and working sessions, both in-house and off-site.
•Develop and present applications to showcase the company’s new technologies and ingredients.
•Participate in annual customer account planning with sales and business development.
•Establish and maintain strong technical to technical relations with customers.
•Stay up to speed with new food ingredients and products in the industry.
•Stay up to speed with processing and equipment advances; apply them to strengthen capabilities.
•Share technical learnings with colleagues, both informally and potentially through formal trainings.
•Mentor colleagues.
•Maintain a safe and clean work environment.


Required Skills and Experience


*BA/BS Degree, Food Science, or related degree; MS, Food Science, or related field preferred.
*A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the food industry in a lab or applications environment; 5+ years in flavor, ingredients, or combination thereof.
*Basic to intermediate knowledge and experience with processing equipment (UHT, HTST, Homogenizer, Batch Freezer, etc.); willing to be trained or certified.
*Intermediate to expert knowledge on stabilizers, cultures, and enzymes.
*Travel – approximately 15-20% of the time.
