How you will contribute 
As China Consumer Insights Associate Manager, you will lead fabric care category CI projects for global, regional as well as local customers e.g. P&G, UL, Liby, Bluemoon, Nice Group etc. and will closely track changes in the market.
You will define consumer research design, both qualitative & quantitative, and align approach with cross- functional teams. You will drive the definition of assumptions and learning needs with Commercial and Creative teams to ensure business objectives are clearly defined. 
Analyzing results to generate insights, the Consumer Insights Associate Manager is a pivotal role to help IFF target customer opportunities ensuring business growth. 
You will support regional CI team, as and when required, on projects outside of China.

 

How you will spend your time
•    Lead Consumer Research Design by defining research approach to deliver against learning needs or customer validation requirements (focused on validation & creation) in collaboration with Commercial and Scent Design Manager teams 
•    Manage Statistical Analysis of data, fieldwork logistics and database management
•    Identify insights and customer opportunities, generate outputs and recommendations for creative design next steps. 
•    Identify need gaps or unmet needs to define customer opportunities and offer IFF Fragrance solutions.
•    Focus on local, global or regional key projects, develop materials incorporating recommendations for next steps, for customer, workshop, events or internal team presentations and meetings. 
•    Engage and liaise with external research agency for negotiation and project briefing. 
•    Support / Collaborate with the regional and global CI teams to execute projects in China
•    Deal with financial work e.g. CI budget, expense track, contract with agency and payment.
•    Coach and train junior talent and build leadership capability.

Job Requirements

What you will need to be successful 
•    Bachelor's degree or above in Market Research, Statistics, Psychology, Behavioral Sciences or any other relevant discipline, Master's degree will be a plus.
•    Expertise in Quantitative (e.g. CLT,HUT,U&A study) and Qualitative design (e.g. in-depth interview, in home visit, focus group), research methodology (both online and offline) and data analysis.
•    Proficient in MS Office applications especially PowerPoint, Excel and Word
•    Familiar with statistical treatment of data with strong analytical software skills such as SPSS, JMP or XLSTAT.
•    Self-starter who can prioritize and manage deadlines
•    High level of energy and enthusiasm, solution driven
•    Meticulous and high sensitivity with numbers and attention to details 
•    Excellent presentation and storytelling capability, with the ability to translate research data into actionable insights for the business 
•    Sensitivity with trends and opportunities, capable in creating strategies or action plans from consumer and market insights.
•    Fluent in English (written and verbal)
•    Good teamwork spirit, love to share and learn with colleagues.


Essential Experience
•    Minimum 8-10 years of consumer research with 360 project management experience in a relevant industry.
•    Track record in leading research design & methodology for China
•    Ability to think beyond traditional testing methods, passionate in finding creative ways to test and connect with consumers.
•    Strong working experience in Market Research operations and product testing research.
•    Experience in a broad range of consumer research techniques and appropriate statistical knowledge.
•    Knowledge of fragrance consumer research will be a plus.
•    Demonstrated ability in building effective relationships or partnerships across multiple functional areas in a matrix environment
•    Willing to travel as needed.
•    Experience of training / coaching juniors is nice to have.
