Job Description
The Material Expediter reports to the Logistics Line Manager and is responsible for scheduling, receiving, unloading, and moving of raw materials, and finished goods. This person is responsible for inspection and sealing of finished goods solution trailers, providing testing support, and expediting special requests.
Key Elements:
• Maintain accurate stock and flow of all raw materials used in production, and communicate with vendors, production staff and operational resources. (Including but not limited to Dextrose, Sorbitol, IP Materials, Crystalline, Acid/ Caustic)
• Must be able to work with hazardous materials such as Sulfuric Acid, and Sodium Hydroxide (Caustic)
• Ensure quality through testing, verification, and inspection of all raw material deliveries.
• Complete all necessary documentation associated with raw material utilization.
• Work with the stockroom and purchasing to identify proper part numbers and items for order.
• Maintain various stock items such as melt filters, sample bottles, empty totes, and other necessary production support items.
• Work directly with vendors when appropriate on shipment and delivery methods and times.
• Inspect and document empty bulk trailer receipt.
• Finish, seal and document liquid transport trucks. Compile shipping documents.
• Observe Good Manufacturing Practices in all production operations.
• Perform general maintenance and cleaning of equipment as required.
• Move and position semi-trailers used for bulk transport.
• Inspect and Maintain trailers set up repairs with vender as needed.
• Provide training on specific operations, documenting employee completion of training.
• Be available for overtime, call-outs, and have a working telephone with a working answering machine/ Voice Message System. (This position can get calls at all times of the day/night and may have to reschedule or work with production on delays of incoming raw material)
• Lift 55 pounds routinely. Climb, stoop, squat, and perform work in confined areas and difficult to reach conditions.
• Assist in the completion of other departmental tasks as required.
• Perform activities per the Hazardous Waste and DOT Hazardous Material - Position Description Appendix, EDOC-030
• Transport finished goods from 1196 to 1001 (may also be required to put material away in 1001 as needed)
• Help 1001 unload IP dextrose and work as a team with logistics group on overall needs in the department.
• Move IP Dextrose from 1001 to 1168 as needed
• The schedule for this position is 8hr. days starting at 6AM. Overtime is on an as needed basis to handle late trucks or extra work and must be pre-approved.
• Is Expected to become a trainer for Ottawa (spotter truck) and forklifts and help recertify other individuals when needed.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
• High School diploma or GED required. A two-year Associates is preferred. Three years’ experience in Litesse production is preferred along with demonstrated skills in time management, organization, and coordination of activities.
• Ability to use personal computers, including applications such as Windows, Word and Excel.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Must be capable of performing work while wearing a respirator.

Training:
• Incumbent must complete new employee, departmental and safety training. Must also complete Litesse Material Expediter Operation’s training within 6 months of hire.
