If you are outgoing, hardworking and dependable, then this is the role for you!  As a Material Handler at our Thomson, IL facility, you will be responsible for completing various tasks around the plant in an accurate and safe manner. Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

 

  • Operate, maintain, and clean all packaging equipment in a safe manner.
  • Perform general preventative maintenance on packaging equipment.
  • Package finished product in appropriate packaging components per work instructions.
  • Proper handling, packaging, and labeling of finished product.
  • Obtain required samples of finished product during packaging operations for laboratory testing.
  • Place finished goods in warehouse racks.
  • Complete all paperwork as required.
  • Understand and follow plant quality and environmental policies.
  • Follow all applicable procedures and work instructions.
  • Follow all safety and GMP/Sanitation rules.
  • Proper disposal of waste materials to prevent pollution and use of proper safety procedures to reduce employee health risks.

Job Requirements

 

•    High School Diploma/GED
•    2+ years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, warehouse, military, or related role OR a recent graduate with a 2-year degree or higher in a related field
•    Basic computer skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office 
•    Willing and able to operate both 'sit down' and 'stand up' style of fork trucks
•    Willing and able to lift 25kg (up to approx. 55 lbs.)
•    Good communication skills and the ability to follow directions
•    Willing and able to work a 12-hr day shift, rotating schedule, including weekends and holidays as required per shift schedule
•    Willing and able to work overtime, sometimes on short notice is required
•    Willing and able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required (including but not limited to uniform, hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toed shoes)
•    Complete all Material Handler Training Checklists


Preferred Qualifications

•    A 2-year degree in a technical or related role
•    Previous experience operating ‘stand up’ or ‘sit down’ fork trucks
•    Previous experience using an ERP system and/or SAP

 

Pre-employment drug screen and background check required.
