To meet ongoing product demands, our Thomson, IL facility is hiring for Process Operators.  In this position you will be responsible for:


•    Directing rail switch crew to see that cars are spotted and directing truck traffic in the tank farm area
•    Working outdoors offloading rail cars and trucks, reloading and sampling
•    Monitoring switch crew and maintaining control of IFF track using switch stop sign, gates, lights/horns
•    Reporting number of railcars and trucks arriving and to be shipped
•    Sampling storage tanks, unloading salt, caustic and acid trucks
•    Operating conditions and maintaining pumping equipment in good repair
•    Housekeeping and preparing equipment for maintenance and/or contractor
•    Performing tasks such as climbing ladders, accessing valves in pipe racks, operating fork trucks


Process Operators require the ability to understand and follow plant quality and environmental policies, applicable procedures and work instructions, safety procedures, GMP and sanitation rules.  Good communication, basic computers skills, fork truck operation, lifting up to 55lbs, wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and ability to work overtime on short notice is needed.  

 

The position requires working a 12-hour shift, alternate work schedule (AWS) which is a rotating pattern from days to nights that includes working 7 of 14 calendar days and every other weekend, with 8 hours of built-in overtime every 2 weeks.
 

Job Requirements

 

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, industrial, warehouse or military

 

Pre-employment drug screen and background check required.
