The position will be part of the Data Analytics group within Research and Development and be based at either our Union Beach, NJ or Wilmington, DE facilities.  The successful candidate will play a key as an R&D Data Engineer enabling the digital transformation of scientific investigations and processes.  

• Design and connect complex data structures for end user consumption.  
• Scientific programming and database administration.
• Create, maintain, automate, and optimize data pipeline architectures and applications.
• Application development, deployment, and administration.
• Participate in cross-functional teams researching emerging digital technologies.
• Prototype novel technical solutions aimed at improving the efficiency of IFF R&D.

Required Experience:

• B.S. degree in Science, Engineering, or Mathematics with 3+ years of experience 
• Proficient in data science programming languages (Python, R, Spark)
• Proficient in SQL programming and database development (SQL, Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL)
• Familiar with REST framework and creating APIs.
• Familiar with version control methodologies (Git/Gitlab)
• Scientific programming experience in life sciences or engineering.
• Demonstrated ability to contribute to multiple projects simultaneously with minimal input from supervisor.
• Excellent teamwork and presentation skills.
• Ability to partner with scientists to identify and deliver scientific informatics solutions.

Preferred Experience:

• M.S. degree 
• Experience in the flavor, fragrance, food, consumer products, or pharmaceutical industry.
• Proficient with visual analytic software (Power BI, Tableau, Spotfire)
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services (Lambda, Glue, Athena)
• Life Science application development experience (KNIME, Pipeline Pilot)
• Proficient in application containerization (Docker)
• Web application development experience (Django, Flask, React)
