A Sr. Director, Head of Global Network Engineering position is available at one of the world’s best fragrance and flavor companies. This position will be part of a global IT organization, providing architectural oversight, engineering, and successful management and deployment of global network infrastructure.  You will lead a team of internal and external members to deliver the overall networking capabilities across the globe in IFF’s 400+ campuses with 30,000+ end user base.  In partnership with Global Vice President of Converged Infrastructure, you will lead the data center networking strategy to create a high-performance unified network spanning across Americas, EMEA and Greater Asia.  You are a hands-on leader with experience in transformation of large complex heterogenous networks into high performance, service oriented and highly resilient multi-tenant architectures, supporting thousands of customers, partners, and systems.  Your role will be instrumental in defining IFF’s digital transformation journey with world leading technologies from Cisco, HPe, Palo Alto, Equinix, Amazon AWS, Juniper, Arista, and others.  In concert with management team, you will provide technical leadership and project guidance to your direct and the outsourced partners.  

 

You will spend your time…

 

  • Architect, Engineer and Operationalize and support 24 x7 global networking and telephony infrastructures designed on HPe, Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper in concert with Equinix.  Build detailed architectural design, workflows, implementation of system and services.
  • Responsible for multi-year enterprise-wide global strategy to transform data center, edge computing, SD-WAN, and Wi-Fi alignment to business objective, service management, and operational readiness.
  • Ensuring continuous availability of all global core networking services and routing protocols across local and wide area networks
  • Driving continuous improvement of the ITIL support model (Incident, Change, Problem and Capacity Management)
  • Evaluating and recommending new technologies to solve business challenges and ensure environments remain current.  Implement cost management strategies by leveraging innovation and maximize service value to business.
  • Providing team leadership, performance management, resource allocation, and consistently strive to create a high-performance team.
  • Responsible for managing department budget, negotiating vendor contracts, manage manufactures and 3rd party maintenance contracts.
  • Leading and facilitating the collaboration of staff in cross-functional activities and process improvement initiatives, professional development, retention strategy, and strengthens relationships with peer teams
  • Working with core network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, VLANs, DMVPNs, NGFW and globally connected remote sites supporting high availability environments.
  • Designing and architecture of Cisco Application Centric Fabric, multi-pod designed on spine/leaf architectures under MSDC (Massively Scale-out Data Center) frameworks.
  • Working in high performance firewall architectures designed on Palo Alto and Fortinet.
  • Working with stakeholders across the entire organization to identify business and technology needs and to optimize the use of information technology
  • Extensive experience in optimizing networking within hyper-scalers architectures and  integration with core / edge networks.
     

Job Requirements

 

Required Skills & Experience:

 

  • Experience with NLB technologies on Citrix NetScaler, F5, and other load balancers support web hosting environments.
  • Intense experience in routing protocols, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, VRF, VLANs, VPNs, Zscalers, TGW, VGW, SD-WAN
  • In depth experience in networking performance monitoring and capacity management including creating daily, weekly, and monthly reporting metrics
  • Master’s degree or higher in computer science or electronics and communication engineering, as well as at least 15 years of relevant experience. 
  • 15+ years of global hands-on technical and leadership experience in managing complex heterogenous networks with multi-tenant architectures.
  • In-depth experience with Cisco, HPe, Aruba, Palo Alto, Juniper, SD-WAN (Velocloud), Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and other major networking vendors
  • Proven experience building global, high-performance, resilient network architectures leveraging multiple partners (AT&T, Verizon, BT, China Telecom and others)
  • Experience with hosting providers specifically Equinix, Digital Realty, IBM, and SAP
  • Develop departmental goals, plans and standards consistent with the technological, clinical, administrative, legal and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
  • Plan, organize and direct all activities related to staffing, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions and continuing education initiatives.
  • Prepare departmental budgets and ensure the department operates in compliance with allocated funding.
  • Coordinate and direct internal/external audits.
  • Direct and evaluate all departmental activities including research, design and development of new technologies, service level determination and complaint management.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with all levels of employees, management, and business leaders. An effective, creative, and visionary problem solver.
