As the Global Category Manager, Professional Services, you will lead the global sourcing of services in  collaboration with regional procurement teams  and will work with stakeholders to ensure Global Procurement meets their expectations and ensure governance with GP policy for procuring indirect spend and services.


In this role, you will develop the global category strategies, determine sourcing levers, and lead the execution in close conjunction with our regional teams. You will collaborate with IFF executives to assess company needs, define the supply market, and act as a bridge between the supply market and IFF stakeholders. You will also lead key sourcing initiatives and projects using established sourcing methodology and tools.


How you will spend your time...

  • Develop Professional Service Category strategies including Legal Services, HR services including Temporary Labor, Business Travel etc to ensure that the strategy addresses the market differences between the various professional service practices. Manage the global spend, working with regional teams to ensure implementation of category strategy globally.
  • Develop the commercial framework to optimize costs. Own and manage an assigned spend portfolio. Initiate cost savings ideas and achieve indirect saving targets. Lead sourcing project team, conduct negotiations, execute strategic sourcing methodology. 
  • Assess supplier portfolio and manage within the SRM framework, including identifying the best potential providers for the various market segments. Determine stakeholders needs. Identify effective strategies and sourcing levers. Develop a plan of action and execute.
  • Develop a global supply base, especially for "boutique" needs; through external market analyses. Identify innovative capabilities and services within assigned category of spend and implement with internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement process improvements; for instance, identifying common needs that could be better addressed through internalizing capabilities. Establish Master Service Agreements and rates cards for more efficient process and lower overall costs.
  • Provide governance and oversight to ensure procurement policies/procedures are met. This role will ensure supply chain process is optimized and feasible in order to deliver sustainably on IM&S projects.
  • Acting as a liaison and sourcing adviser to the Regional Procurement Directors and business unit stakeholders. Manage relationships with the business units within the region and ensure compliance with budget and GP Policy. Engage stakeholders proactively as a business partner to improve demand management and application of best practices.
  • Work with internal business stakeholders to apply Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program/protocols to suppliers in assigned portfolio. 

Job Requirements

  • Master’s in business, Engineering
  • Knowledge of financial analysis, legal framework and business drivers
  • Minimum 7-8 years of relevant indirect procurement work experience as a (senior) buyer
  • 3-5 years of strategic sourcing experience in similar capacity
  • 3 years of experience in Professional Services sourcing an advantage


Preferred Experience

  • Experience managing/leading cross-functional teams
  • Experience with SAP and Zycus
  • CPSM Certification
