Job Description

This supervisor position within the production department is responsible for managing the shipping and receiving of materials for both IFF locations (Winter Haven and Lakeland).  Scheduling and performing preventative maintenance of equipment and some basic repairs is required.  The individual is expected to maintain a safe and sanitary work area by ensuring the departments and equipment are kept in good working order.  This role requires the individual to be a leader, self-driven and mentor.

Long Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plans, schedules and manages the efficient movement of materials for both sites. 
  • Facilitates the distribution process to ensure that customer requirements and time constraints are met. 
  • Receives incoming materials and/or prepares materials for shipment. Performs a variety of duties which may require the use of any combination of the following: hand trucks, forklifts and other devices, or computers to maintain data. Verifies quantity, weight, and conformance of materials; routes materials to destinations. 
  • May layout, fabricate and assemble nonstandard shipping crates and boxes and prepare parts and tooling for special shipment. 
  • Manages basic maintenance repairs of equipment supporting both sites.
  • Perform all warehouse operations including, but not limited to, material movements, ingredient sampling, reservoir replenishments, pumping, transferring, GMP’s and HACCP. 
  • Maintain a safe working environment using appropriate safety equipment to proactively improve the safety culture of the department.
  • Maintain processing area / equipment in a clean, sanitary and presentable condition.
  • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices and exemplary housekeeping standards.

Provide additional support and duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Required Skills:

  • Education:  Associate Degree is preferred, high school graduate required.
  • Basic math skills are essential in the function of this positionProven ability to multi-task, good communication and teamwork skills with peers and supervisors.
  • Thorough understanding of managing resources, capabilities and capacities in a production setting 
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced team environment to help promote a culture of continuous improvement 
  • Physical Demands: The position requires that employees must be able to wear a respirator as well as lift, carry, pull and push equipment, materials and smelling are essential functions of the position.
Short Description

 Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in a manufacturing or chemical plant
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in the operation of moving equipment such as forklifts, tote and tank wagons, etc.
